We asked young leaders in your community to reflect on the state of our society. The collective response was that we need more inclusion and empathy and above all – critical thinking about the way forward. At Global Visionaries, we are working to increase access to youth leadership training that fosters global relationships and collaboration, a social justice mindset and critical thinking around how we solve the problems facing our society today. Join us in this quest as we partner with young leaders both in our own community and in Guatemala to change the future.
About our Event:
Each year we hold an Auction & Gala to help fund scholarships for our program participants. Our 18th Annual Auction & Gala will be held on June 1, 2019; 5:30 - 9PM at Block41 in Seattle. Our most successful fundraiser of the year, with a goal of 250 guests, this event includes a Live & Silent Auction, Raffles, Games, and an opportunity to hear from Students about their experience with the program.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support diversity in our youth programs. Since 50% of our youth participants receive partial to full scholarships, this event provides funding for those who ordinarily would not be able participate in our life changing global leadership programs.
Our program challenges students to build relationships that extend beyond borders, stereotypes, and politics in order to inspire a new generation of global leaders. We believe that truly empathetic leadership is best developed through interactions with a diverse group of peers. Our goal is to recruit cohorts made up of 50% youth of color and 50% white youth; 50% youth from low-income families and 50% youth from middle-to upper-income families. Thus, Global Visionaries provides scholarships for participants ranging from 5-100% of their program costs.
