About Us

Global Visionaries is a deliberately diverse youth-led leadership organization. Our multi-year leadership program is designed to frame local issues in a global context, helping Seattle students from across socio-economic circumstances come together and work as a team. Our program challenges students to build relationships that extend beyond borders, stereotypes, and politics in order to inspire a new generation of global leaders. Youth participate in workshops, meetings, and local community service projects throughout the year while they prepare for a culminating two-week educational, cultural, and service immersion experience in Guatemala.

We believe that truly empathetic leadership is best developed through interactions with a diverse group of peers. Our goal is to recruit cohorts made up of 50% youth of color and 50% white youth; 50% youth from low-income families and 50% youth from middle-to upper-income families. Thus, Global Visionaries provides scholarships for participants ranging from 5-100% of their program costs.

About our Event:

Each year we hold an Auction & Gala to help fund scholarships for our program participants. Our 21st Annual Auction & Gala will be held on May 14, 2022 at Metropolist in Seattle. Our most successful fundraiser of the year, with a goal of 100 guests, this event includes a live & silent auction, raffles, games, live music from Sin Fronteras and an opportunity to hear from students about their experience with the program. This year’s theme is Las Mariposas to symbolize the transformation and evolution of our young leaders and Global Visionaries as an organization. Our goal is to raise over $100,000 to support diversity in our youth programs and provide scholarship funding for those who ordinarily would not be able participate in our life changing global leadership programs.
